Gay/Lesbian Marriage in Maple

There's alot of threads on this recently, but regardless of whether you want gay/lesbian marriage in maplestory or not, Nexon will not implement it. The reason is simply because Nexon, being profit-driven like all companies are, need to do what's socially acceptable in order to maintain a good image and a large customer base. You can argue whether homosexuality is right or wrong, but it will do little to change the fact that gay/lesbian marriage is not allowed in most societies and is not socially accepted. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to homosexuality in anyway, but you cannot change dictate the views of society. taotapp said: "I haven't seen a lot of debate about it recently, aside from the single other thread in this section. It would make the game objectional, and I'm sure someone "in America" would sue it for promoting homosexual activities.

If they're so set on this being a "game for children," they should just take out marriage period. Take out FM while they're at it, cause what child runs a shop in real life?

A lot of children play this game, I think parents wouldn't like it if their kid marries a guy in a game. Marriage (90% of the time) in maple isn't about love or something, it's more about a fun thing and APQ. With children I mean 13-

The maplestory community is not mature enough to handle it. Nor are a lot of people. Personally, if you want to get married to someone of the same gender, with the same sexual orientation as you, be my guest. I won't try and stop you. But don't get me involved, ya know? What you do isn't by business.
