Do you strictly believe that god doesn't exist? I used to, but I was thinking about it today. I have come to accept things, such as gravity, something that cannot be explained, but I don't believe in god. I know that there are 2 points in a line, but I don't know why. I know that I have the ability to ponder, as I am now, but I don't know why. If you can't explain god, why do you have to disbelieve?

And you don't have to go to church to be a Christian, not saying that. People go church because they want to learn more. 6. I meant inevitable as in when we pass away. 7. I was just trying to say, the bible surely is SOME evidence. 8. I wasn't addressing that to people, I was thinking in the train of thought of non-Christians. 9. Yeah, as I've said, it's by faith. -sigh- Not to you personally, but if people are trying to flame me because I'm voicing my opinions, you, er, shouldn't. " As another Christian I'm just going to state this. I wouldn't try to convert others, it is one of the driving factor in our religion's disparity and we are always stereotyped as Bible-thumpers and many other things. I believe no one should try to convert people into their beliefs regarding religions, but rather people can already use the available sources of information they have access to try to form their own beliefs. Information about Christianity is out there, so practically anyone interested in becoming Christian should have no problem becoming one. I became Christian solely based on what I've researched and decided to do, not through people trying to convert me.

I don't know if you saw or not, but I answered your question I awhile back and ended your loop before it began. The answer is nobody really knows. Theories are only good as far as we can test them. The theory of God is not testable at all! We don't have to have the answer to every question. It is the search for answers that is important.

Macaroni said: " Actually, that's the worst part about atheism. If it does turn out to be true, we won't be around to say anything about it or run it in people's faces :P" I know you read the Bible, so we both can agree that Christianity is in no way true. It's like saying invisible flying unicorns exist and will send us to hell if we don't worship them. The only reason people take it seriously is because a lot of people follow it.

There are some smart people here that are nice to talk to. And I even mean you, christians, I'm not being hypocritical. Some of you are intellectual. Even on smarter, higher age-range audience forums, religion threads are still like this, just with a few less direct insults and "LOLOL GOD/EVOLUTION ARE NOT REAL CUZ I THINK SO ROFL"

A scientific theory is a reasonable conclusion come upon by peer-editted evidence and tests (before you say it for big bang, see partical accelerator). Evolution is a fact in that it happens, a theory on how it happens. Natural selection is that theory. Gravity is a fact in that it happens, a theory on how it happens. Mass gravitation is that theory." Scientific theory is just hypothesis that has not yet been proven wrong. It's the extent of our evidence and testing.

Meh...I think I'll duck out of this, not even gonna try to state my beliefs

We see the effects of gravity* all around us, but I don't know of anything strictly attributed to God.

But I do love discussions like this. It's nice to hear other people's opinions. And, erm, I think someone said I was blinded by my belief? That offends me a bit, I choose to believe in what I believe because I want to. I'm not saying there is a right or wrong answer, so don't ever say I'm blinded by my belief.

Assuming that you are correct in your beliefs, you would let people go to hell instead of try to help them reach heaven? I actually commend people for attempting it, at least they are "good" Christians.
