talk to Mar the fairy first and then talk to the pet trainer guy in henesys. He'll give you the life scroll.

I got the water of life (and I'm in Ludi), but I still need a life scroll. That Wisp says I need to find it in one of the empty houses.

Go to Ludi Vilage, it's one map left of Ludi (the town itself). One of the houses there will have a NPC that looks like a scroll. That will give you a life scroll when you click on it.
