Maple Shield problem

Hello, After hunting bubblings for a total of 9 hours, I was thrilled to finally pick up a maple shield. I was hoping to use it, but I found out that it replaces my claw, so whats up with that? if i'm wearing the shield I cant attack with my claw. why?

you need a wide area of throwing to throw a star to deal great damage. If you had a shield.. you wouldnt be able to throw stars good :]

Almost everyone in this thread is really rude >.> You could simply say, "you can't equip a claw and a shield at the same time," but instead, more than half of you decide to flame or make fun of him. Edit: Also, the guy spent 9 hours trying to find the shield. You could at least have some sympathy. To the people who say that it's sad that he doesn't know this even though he' lvl 41, it's really not hard to get to level 50 anymore. A person could easily get to that level and not know a thing.
