Actually, nowadays, I daresay it is like a history book, since it traces the rise and fall of nations quite accurately if studied. Though at the time it was written 30% was and is prophetic... which is more like the opposite of history. As an example, It wasn't until the discovery of the Rosetta Stone that the Hittites were confirmed by archeology. Even though the Bible had made mention of them. So in that respect, the history recorded in the Bible was also more accurate than what man knew. If it was right then, and other times, I daresay it can and was more than just then. Christianity's roots go back to the beginning. Those before His incarnation still believed in the "Messiah", or "Christ" to come. They were just looking forward to Him rather than backward like we do now. In that regard, the first people recorded in the Bible were all "Christians". |
