How is this my fault?

We had a soccer game on Saturday and my team was winning 3-1. I was at right mid and got the ball. I was dribbling the ball as fast as i could down the side when a kid from the other team tries to block me. He plays fair and all and i won't say it's his fault or mine but we collide. As we collide he has his wrist up and i have both my arms down by my sides. He hits his wrist against my shoulder/arm. We both fall down and i get up quickly. He however stays down. I go up to him and say are u ok? He doesn't reply. A medical truck pulls up and they check him out. They say his wrist may be broken. I feel sorry for him but i am NOT gonna beat myself up about colliding with a kid who happened to break his wrist in that incident. So this is what happens at school. His sister comes up to me jokingly and says "oh Likith you BROKE MY BROTHER's WRIST." She's my friend so i know she's kidding. Other Kids however started to get on my nerves...This one girl starts talking to me about how he can't write or play his trombone. She also tells me his girlfriend is ticked at me. So then one of the kids on my soccer team hears this. I try to tell the girl it's not my fault, we collided and i don't blame either of us. I tell her i am sorry about that. THEN THE KID ON MY SOCCER TEAM IS ALL IN MY FACE TELLING ME IT IS MY FAULT. We used to be friends but i don't know what happened. Now he just ignores me. But now when im in a tight spot he just comes up to me and starts yelling? I tell him i was just protecting myself by bringing my arms down and he says "why were you protecting yourself?" I just walk away from both of them. Plz...tell me if this is my fault. I am REALLY ticked right now. First of all if i had broken my wrist instead, NO ONE WOULD HAVE CARED. No "are you oks? No "how is ur wrist? I know im just ranting but i feel really sad that they would dare say this to me when i have never seriously hurt someone. So what do u think basilers? Is this my fault? I cant set up a vote but just say yes or no and then give a description.

Who cares about him, his girlfriend, or his trombone playing. He went to you when you had the ball and you took a dump on his life. Now, he'll think twice about throwing his body in front of a moving target.

Well this problem you're in is exactly like a car crash. After the crash is done, then the blame begins on whose fault it is. In the end, it's one of their faults, so you have to analyze what exactly happened and then you can explain why, unless they don't care and just like blaming it on you for no reason, then just ignore them.

The friggin' hell is with those kids? It's a sport...You're bound to get hurt, sometime. Anyone remember that one year in the Fifa Championship, that dude got headbutted? Exactly, even in pro soccer, people get hurt.
