What does that silk snowball thing do? idk if its called this, but you get it ffrom the letter that monsters drop

It is used to make the Maple cape in which you can aquire from the quest assigned from Cassandra. You need to collect 10 silk snows in order to upgrade it each time except for the last one which requires 10 snow silk + 50 leaves.
