Does Dragon Strike completely take over Energy Blast? I'm an old marauder from back when Trans build was popular, so I maxed Shockwave obviously. Drain seems like an extremely nice skill, but if I max Energy Blast I can only get it to 11. I just want to know if DS is all around better than Blast. I was gonna leave Blast at 21 if DS is all around better. Opinions please. Thanks

Blast is replaced in fourth job. The standard build atm, I think it is anyway, is 11 shockwave and max drain and blast. It's debatable, but I think this is what is considered the most efficient build. Now that DS can be used in transform, shockwave is obsolete in fourth, which is what everyone had been planning for.

I already have maxed Shockwave thats the thing... I'm lvl 113. So I should leave Blast 21 and max Drain? Or leave Drain 11 and max Blast?

Leave Drain at level 11 and max Blast. Blast will come in handy in MANY situations. Drain really is only useful for healing HP, so level 11 is efficient enough.

Can you give me an example of when Blast would be helpful that DS wouldnt take care of? @person above me, once again, I have already maxed Shockwave, I'm lvl 113. It's a little late to not max it now.

Ok I got one. Say you're surrounded by skelegons. You need to kill all of them fast but dragon strike won't one hit them. You use blast because it's faster to weaken one side of the mob and backspin to finish them off leading you a safe distance away from the other side of the mob. Then you can safely dragon strike them to death.

I was the first person to hit fourth job as an Infighter of the English community. @Hinoken : I tried submitting a new avatar from the JMS rankings and it got rejected. I'm working on getting a new avatar, just as soon as the JMS rankings update. lol |

But.. when you get dragon strike... you will never use blast.. but drain will still be used for healing... drain is better in the long run. Drain isn't just healing alone, it's the strongest spammable skill we have. It's incredibly fast with infusion too.

Not exactly since I think Dragon Strike is still slower and NTM, when you filled your charge, might as well take advantage of the new patch since Energy Blast isnt so slow to spam anymore.
