To the people that enjoy stereotyping teenagers, get over yourself. Its clear that you like to put yourself above others. ( for some odd reason) Just because you encounter someone that is not as mature or "developed" doesn't mean you are any better. Teenagers in this generation face many many self-esteem issues, resulting in the constant bashing of there own kind. It seems wrong to justify the whole population between the age of 13-19 just because you have had bad experiences. Please, I am interested to what the general basil community thinks about this subject. Post away

Agree with this dude totally. The guy who started the "Teenagers are starting to fail badly" thread is obviously very insecure and hates the fact that his social life is in shambles.

The reason stereotypes arise is because of the idiots who represent certain things. IE: Druggies, MOST teenagers seem to do drugs these days. MOST teenagers seem to do bad things / get into trouble. Etc.

Most teenagers get involved with drugs and do inapropriate acts is because of peer pressure. Or to fit into a certain social group, no teenager wants to be a outcast.

I agree 100%. The person who created the thread about teenagers starting to fail needs to look beyond what is seen. I have come to the conclusion thinking that the person who created the thread criticizing teenagers is somehow bullied, insecure, and maybe has social problems? Or the person wanted to show his/her intelligence over other teenagers, which is just as sad.

Teenagers in this generation have it better than generations past, at least in America. There have always been emotional problems attached with being a teenager, that never changes, and that's due to our bodies changing so rapidly at that age. It not really a stereotype, it's merely an observation. They haven't "started" to fail, they just always have been not so mature as a whole. which is why there is a difference between being an adult and being a teen. If you were equivalent in maturity to adults, there wouldn't be a distinction. That's the point of growing up, when you are an adult, you leave behind (for the most part) the immaturity of being a teen. It's not an insult, it's the facts of life.

If you actually comprehended my thread, the only thing that "might" be offensive to anyone is the whole "get over yourself" part. Which in my mind is not bashing, it's constructive criticism. But I guess everyone has there own opinion.
