Peace be upon you everyone. I've seen many posts of people saying "I hate my parents" or similar posts. I have a couple of questions for you. 1) Have you ever tried to look at things their way? 2) Have you ever thought of how hard they work to get you food/shelter/happiness? 3) Have you ever thought of how much they did for you? 4) Have you ever thought of a way that would make them happy? or are you selfish, and want to have it your way only? 5) Has it ever occurred to you that what you're going through, they've already went through? 6) Has it ever occurred to you that they have more experience in life than you do? 7) Has it ever occurred to you that raising you isn't the only thing that they're trying to do? Please, I've only heard of parents loving their children and wanting the best for their children, the only time I've heard of a parent trying to hurt their children are parents with mental illnesses.. If you have any problems with your parents, then talk to them about it, in a nice way, fighting/arguing will most likely only make it worse. Try to keep your parents happy, and trust me, its going to make your life much better.

I can also say that all acts of kindness have some kind of other motive that benefits the person giving the kindness, and the only reason people are generous is for that reason." thinking like that is just corruptive and destructive and doesnt do anyone any good so keep it to yourself

i just hate how my mom overreacts for EVERYTHING. If i dont put the mat (the little rug outside the tub, i have to put it on the tub for some reason), if i dont change the paper towels, if I forget something really small, if i leave the shower head on a different setting than what she likes, if i do my homework and she thinks i haven't done it even though she asks me several times and i say yes (llike today she asked me 3 times if I did my homework and all 3 times i said YES!) I get yelled at like there is no tomorrow. I get yelled at like i just crashed her car or broke every dish in the kitchen. I get yelled at for everything.

I love my dad, he's so kind and everything, I want to be like him. My mom...on the other hand...I just don't know. It's either neutral or dislike. I get what the whole thread is about, but when you get down to it, in my life, when your mom thinks of you, for who you are, as absolutely disgusting and everything you do is wrong...well...it's hard to like someone like that.

I love my parents, I just sometimes don't like them. And I don't need some 10 year old kid trying to guilt me about it, thanks.

It makes you feel nice a giddy inside, doesn't it? I suppose you enjoy helping out people, just as I enjoy reading critiques on my beliefs. As for your last sentence..... I had absolutely no idea what you we're trying to say(treat others like how you want to be treated?) ElfenLied said: " thinking like that is just corruptive and destructive and doesnt do anyone any good so keep it to yourself" I suppose if that's how the American society views it, then yes. Then again, some of the greatest ideas and philosophies in history came from thinking differently....(not implying anything)

1. I tried and failed. (I don't see how, for instance I throw a punch at my brother I get yelled at for hitting him, but when he hits me I get yelled at for not defending myself and my bro doesn't get yelled at all.) 2. Yes, but I have also considered how hard they try to keep me feel worthless, ie telling me how I was a mistake and will amount to nothing and how much I fail at life basically. 3. Same as above basically 4. There is nothing that can make both of my parents happy (Yes I have tried) and I admit I am selfish, but aren't we all? 5. My dad went through a similar situation I was in before (New school new people and had the same bad experience), but minus all the verbal abuse. 6. Yes 7. Yes, but heck I was a mistake, so they should've thought of the consequences. I have tried to talk to my parents about it, but my mom always ends up yelling at me even more and my dad has to take her side so he stays "happy". I also try to keep my parents happy, but if they can't yell at me for one thing they yell at me for another, like one time I got an A on a presentation they essentailly said pfff you are wearing the worng pants, you know how bad you look? yada yada yada Edit: I wouldn't say I really hate my parents, but its more of a strong distaste for them.
