so which one is better? Gimp is free but photoshop isn't, remember that

Photoshop Elements < GIMP < Photoshop CS4

Photoshop if you can afford it or have the soures. GIMP if you just want a basic photo editting program. If you want a vector based program, go for Inkscape. It's got the basics of Adobe Illustrator.

I hope you're joking.. Gimp is generally hard to use due to a different interface.. It's slow, even tho it's faster then PDN, still slower then PS.. Gawd.. only thing gimp is better at is the fact that it's free. No other reason >_>

i use Microsoft paint lol. Simple and easy to use. I'm not a hardcore photo editor.

Photo Shop is the better program, but it costs a lot of money especially if you don't know what you're doing on it.

photodhop is free too. hell, anything on the internet is free.
