After beating pokemon platinum I started to Ev train. I planned out a whole team, bred them for the correct Iv's and Natures, and even spent hours in the Battle Frontier collecting enough BP's to get the correct items for my pokemon to hold. After getting halfway through my fourth poke, I realized that "this is not the way pokemon should be played." I didn't want to start my platinum over so I spent a few hours digging through my shelves until I found my version of pokemon emerald. I have just started the game and have picked mudkip as my new found companion. I now have one simple question, what is the best possible team to beat the game with without using legendary pokes or trading? Keep up the nice suggestions, they're really helping. So far I have Swampert, Salamance, Hariyama, Gardenvior, and Camrupt. One more slot!

Get yourself a metagross. REALLY helps. Also, many people don't use him, but that shark guy is also insanely good.

Not sure where you can find shuckles... But if you train his Def EV's(Or whatever you call them)... He becomes a tank... Almost better than Snorlax...

Oh um.. make sure you aren't dumb enough to masterball the Rayquaza for E4... I did that, and it thought I was hacking at the end and it deleted my file.. >_>

Gardevoir/Kirlia/Ralts, Flygon/Vibria/Trapinch, Ludicolo/Lombre/Lotad I would of went with Blaiziken cause it would of owned the first and third elite four members.

You get him after the E4, I'm pretty sure you get Shuckle after the E4 too. And I'd rather not Ev train, this team is simply for beating the game, not competitive battles.

I loved flygon. That, or get a camerupt. -and manectric, since you'd need some electric attacks as well.

Flygon is good too... Not sure if you get him after the E4... Gyrados and Walord are good...

BTW, It would be INCREDIBLE if you got all the pokemon for the hoenn league (I did :D) You could get a Typhlosion Feraligator or a Bayleaf :o (I recommend Typhlosion for the awesomeness)

Same for that I don't know if you can get it after or before the E4... Raichu is ok.... One of those Fossils you get during the game is good till the end...
