Has finally decided to get a laptop for work. He sucks at typing, so now I'm in search of a good typing program for him. Any suggestions?

dude... you can just teach him the finger placements and when he starts typing he will start typing fast on his own that's what happened to me besides taking computer essentials

Typing...of the Dead. That's how I learned to touch-type: do the tutorials and then play the game to see if you're ready. Fun, too. :D

How hard is typing that you need a tutorial for it. After a while of looking at the keyboard while typing, he'll know where the letters are and will be able to type quickly on his own.

I learned to type the way I do with online games for years. It really just happens after a ton of practice, but normal practice on Word and such is horribly boring.
