Deleting Something FOREVER

You know how when u drag something in the recycling bin , then u clear the recycling bin can you get back watever you clear ? Because i want to delete something and make sure no one get track it or find it ever again on my comp

Everyone who is saying that its completely gone, it isn't. It's still on there for sure, but even above average computer users won't be able to find it. I would say, get TuneUp Utilites 2009 if you can, it's a really good program, but it's not free. I believe the trial would work anyways if there is one. Also you could get it if you know how to use torrents (sorry, I don't know if this is allowed or not) If you do get it, right click on the recycle bin and click "TuneUp Shredder", --> Put it on Secure delete (Gutman Mehtod), that will encrypt any file like, HARDCORE. =P --> It will take awhile but, if it's one file, it won't be too long. OR Download Spybot & do the same, it's free but does not encrypt it that will. (The files deleted are still left on your computer, through indexing and other. This method encrypts those file, making it pretty hard to recover.)

Try Ccleaner, Google it, Its what your looking for, and it does a good job cleaning up any traces of leftover files.

There are ways but i don't think the programms are freeware....

Yes it can be recovered, it's actually pretty easy if you know what to do.

Once something is on a computrer, it can be recovered

This method encrypts those file, making it pretty hard to recover.)" The Gutman Method does not encrypt the deleted files, it writes over the sectors that it was saved with zeros/random data. There are still ways to recover it, for instance it could still be stored in ram and recovered that way, the best way to delete your files is to smash your hard-drive with a sledge hammer. However the next best thing to that is the Gutman Method the more passes the better. Pretty much the idea here is that if you can pile tons of useless information onto something it becomes unreadable. And rightfully so. However, it isn't a fool-proof method of erasing anything. Sure, there is probably no way to recover something has been passed over, say, 60 times. But if you want a 0% chance of your data not being recovered is to cut it up, set it on fire, blow it up, and scatter it in 5,000 pieces in different places around the world. And even then, who knows?

Yes, Tealeaves, you can delete your pr0n in the recycling bin, and no one, save an advanced PC user, which is most likely not your parents, siblings, or cousins, can find it ever again, though it leaves a 'ghost' that advanced users can find.
