Boa Constrictor Oh, I'm being eaten By a boa constrictor, A boa constrictor, A boa constrictor, I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor, And I don't like it--one bit. Well, what do you know? It's nibblin' my toe. Oh, gee, It's up to my knee. Oh my, It's up to my thigh. Oh, fiddle, It's up to my middle. Oh, heck, It's up to my neck. Oh, dread, It's upmmmmmmmmmmffffffffff . . . by Shel Silverstein I had to memorize it in 2nd grade. Haha.

This poem used to be my favorite after the Iraqi War started. What I Will -Suheir Hammad I will not dance to your war drum. I will not lend my soul nor my bones to your war drum. I will not dance to your beating. I know that beat. It is lifeless. I know intimately that skin you are hitting. It was alive once. Hunted, stolen, stretched. I will not dance to your drummed up war. I will not pop, spin, break for you. I will not hate for you or even hate you. I will not kill for you. Especially, I will not die for you. I will not mourn the dead with murder nor suicide. I will not side with you or dance to bombs because everyone else is dancing. Everyone can be wrong. Life is a right not collateral or casual. I will not forget where I come from. I will craft my own drum. Gather my beloved near and our chanting will be dancing. Our humming will be drumming. I will not be played. I will not lend my name nor my rhythm to your beat. I will dance and resist and dance and persist and dance. This heartbeat is louder than death. Your war drum aint louder than this breath.

Dust Of Snow The way a crow Shook down on me The dust of snow From a hemlock tree Has given my heart A change of mood And saved some part Of a day I had rued.

papataytayUhm.. there was one about dreams I really liked. Wait, I'll get it. Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams die, Life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams go, Life is a barren field, Frozen with snow ~ Langston Hughes.

In a blue blue house, There was a blue blue mouse, On his blue blue bed, Was his mouselette's head, Over his bed a cobweb stayed, Under which every night the little mouse prayed, A fake piece of cheese for him everyday, And you'll get a little piece of life to play.

The Bear by Robert Frost The bear puts both arms around the tree above her And draws it down as if it were a lover And its choke cherries lips to kiss good-bye, Then lets it snap back upright in the sky. Her next step rocks a boulder on the wall (She's making her cross-country in the fall). Her great weight creaks the barbed-wire in its staples As she flings over and off down through the maples, Leaving on one wire moth a lock of hair. Such is the uncaged progress of the bear. The world has room to make a bear feel free; The universe seems cramped to you and me. Man acts more like the poor bear in a cage That all day fights a nervous inward rage~ His mood rejecting all his mind suggests. He paces back and forth and never rests The me-nail click and shuffle of his feet, The telescope at one end of his beat~ And at the other end the microscope, Two instruments of nearly equal hope, And in conjunction giving quite a spread. Or if he rests from scientific tread, 'Tis only to sit back and sway his head Through ninety odd degrees of arc, it seems, Between two metaphysical extremes. He sits back on his fundamental butt With lifted snout and eyes (if any) shut, (lie almost looks religious but he's not), And back and forth he sways from cheek to cheek, At one extreme agreeing with one Greek~ At the other agreeing with another Greek Which may be thought, but only so to speak. A baggy figure, equally pathetic When sedentary and when peripatetic.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there, Had worn them really about the same And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference !

From the Day the World went warm, to the day it went cold The World froze, and melted along its way The Ice and Sun making water, unlike such things we may see Here and there, Splish and Splash, nothing but water we may be Washing rocks, islands, and plants Feeding them, like if it was my own Knowing the Ice and Sun were once together I felt inside in my heart, both warmness and coldness. I thought why I might be here When I awoke one day, I found myself along some strange beings Carrots, Sticks, Buttons, and a Hat near me, such strange beings that would be here From this point on I knew I was not man, just something, something When they came in a strange item, objects that spin, they squished me into two. Myself and I, were no longer together.. And today, I am on the top of the world, with other beings like me, and when the time comes again, I will strike down! or.... The Summer Sky was once so bright, We could see it from a sight, While the people below were so blind, They could not be with the ones they find. The man in the suit then spoke up, We shall destroy it here with this one cup! Then up spoke the Winter Sky, The Shivering Winds made such a sigh.... The man in the glasses then said, We cannot get it a rid The Winter Sky stayed till the year was a end, Then the summer sky said it shall tend. It then said that you must listen, Although I am a sky, I will always glisten, The people then understood this one Summer Sky, And without the Winter Sky it shall never say goodbye.

I wrote this "I'm so glade you came, So glad to see you once again, All I do is think about you, Wishing I would, Oh mutter those beautiful words, Tell you I love you. Another glace at your eyes, Would bring happiness once again, Oh how I love you, 3 Little words I'd love to hear from you. You eternal beauty and grace, Just one look, And my heart is scorched on fire, If I were to die, I wish to see you One last time. Hopefully someday, This bittersweet Pain, Will all just fade away, Agony is from within, Hoping it'll all go a way. Would I of muttered those words, I guess I would not, As I die, I'm thinking of you. Wishing I would say all those beautiful things i fealt, All is left to do, But grief this bittersweet pain. Maybe if I spoken up, You could of been mine. All I do now, Is wonder what would of been, Decided to be happy, But my soul decided it would not."
