Well, I am considering getting a new PC since mine keeps crapping out and it's a P.O.S. HP a1209n From Fall of 2005 512MB RAM 160GB HDD 3.07Ghz Single core Crappy Integrated MOBO Intel GM I rarely lag on MS, but the FM is ridiculous and unpredictable on it. Right now I'm using my Dads (sharing it with him and mom until my mom's gets back from HP I always fix theirs but she crashed the mobo in BIOs) Operating System: Windows Vista� Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.090302-1506) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard System Model: HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBL Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz Memory: 3062MB RAM Page File: 1250MB used, 5075MB available Windows Dir: C:Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode Never lag, ever. This computer was $799.00 dv6833us I hear a lot of people using NetBooks and they work well, but if they don't have a decent GPU they can't Zakum.. so yeah.. I'm a techie so I can build my own desktop but I really would perfer a laptop, although they are more expensive for a better GPU.... Unless the GMA900 can handle Zakum well on minimized settings. If anyone has a recommended laptop for this please tell me and whether it has XP drivers or not. I am not dealing with Vista, I hate it. Thanks.

A Desktop Pc is always good beacuse you can upgrade them if needed, Btw why dont you just do some research into how PC's work and then u'll know what kind of PC to buy and what you'll be getting for your money.

The laptop's portability is probably its greatest feature, but laptops in general cost much more than desktops with the exact same specs, usually by a couple hundred bucks at least. I do a lot of writing here and there, and I live in two different places, so a laptop is ideal for me. If you live in one place most of the time, then a desktop could be very useful for you, and much less costly. Or you could use that extra money that you would have spent on a laptop to improve the specs of your desktop.

i personally prefer a laptop over a desktop because of it's portability.. I use my laptop a lot at friends houses, or for school. So a laptop is the ideal choice for me. Just think about wether you're gonna move around a lot or just use your computer at home.

Since your computer savvy, why not build your own desktop? you can build a decent quad core desktop for like 800 bucks.

I really like desktops personally, and building always saves a lot of money, especially over a laptop. If you want a desktop, I assume you know whats good and what's not. If you want a laptop this one is pretty awesome. I usually don't like BestBuy, but that's the cheapest price I could find for that laptop, and that's a good laptop.

the netbook can probably handle zakum, my old computer has about the same specs as a netbook and i never lagged in zakum, even with high settings. I built my computer last month, for $400-ish CDN CPU: Pentium Dual-Core E5200 RAM: Corsair XMS2 2x 2Gb DDR2 800 Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-UD3L HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500Gb GPU: Galaxy KFA2 NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT HSF: Scythe Katana II Case: Cooler Master Elite 330 w/ 350W PSU u can probably get something like that for $350-ish in the states, though i recommend the OCZ Vendetta as the HSF i quit maple about a year ago, so i don't know how well it runs with maple, but, if my crappy 3 year old computer can take zakum at high settings, then this can probably take horntail at high settings

Your never gonna get a netbook like that for awhile. You might be able to get a desktop like that for a decent price, but still, for a netbook, it's not happening. For a notebook, it's gonna be a bit expensive.
