| Now to begin what I want from you guys is an unbiased, well thought out, somewhat long-winded answer if you have to (I don't really mind reading them out personally) from what I hope is the rather intelligent sin community, and kindly explain to me this thief question: To tell you the truth, I have been curious about the various advantages and disadvantages of dexless, low-dex, and reg dex sins. Note that I'm not asking who is better, because all this would do is bring down the darker dexless sin community with, "0mg u iz os stupdi its d3xl535 l0l l0l ll0". We don't need that, and note too that I'm not trying to stereotype one group of people, just the more ignorant part of the community. So I ask you, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the three. I would personallly thank you for pointing out their abilities for damage, training, and other skills in all 4 job advancements if you can. I will thank you guys ahead of time because I am 90% sure that I will get help from you guys. -Thanks |

| I'll do Normal Dex for ya. xD Pros: -Easy to equip items. A Normal Dex can wear any Claw up to his/her level without any additional aid. All my other equips can just explode and I can still wear my Claw. I have 160 Base Dex, which means I'll be able to do the same with the Timeless Claw too. Cons: -Equally-funded, will not catch up to a Low Dex/Dexless in damage. The gap tightens as levels progress, but you need funding advantage to meet and/or exceed the damage level of a Low/Dexless. xD |

| DEXless is a very easy build to maintain. It's probably the easy build, actually. They don't have to worry about the AP distribution factor, since they only have to leave their DEX at 25 and pump all of it into LUK. And thanks to our main attack, Lucky Seven, they will make full use of those LUK. Also, during 4th job, they get a skill called Maple Warrior. It's a skill that basically increase your base stats by a certain percentage for a duration of time. Because of this, a DEXless will benefit most off of that skill thanks to the Triple Throw formula being the same as Lucky Seven. Since they keep their DEX at 25, they are the build with the least amount of ACC. But since LUK also gives ACC (not as much as DEX), they should still be able to train on the monster they supposed to train on for their level. Their main disadvantage at higher level is the fact that their claw gives less amount of ATT then DEX claws. This cause the other two builds to close up the gap between them even. But even then, out of every amount of ATT they can get a hold of, they will benefit most from it. Lastly, their Drain and Avenger isn't as good as other builds, since DEX factor in the damage formula. Edit: Oh, DEXless equips are mainly Maple Claws, so there's a limited amount of their claws making it more expensive. The only time you are able to get these equips from monsters are during the Maple Anniversary Event, where you seeing them performing some sort of killing ritual as a sacrifice to the Maple gods in hope for one of these claws. xD Also, they are limited to the armor they can wear. Most of them wear Sauna or Bathrobe. RegDEX are the simple AP build that allows a character to practically wear every claw and thief armor there is without any help from the outside. They are relatively easy to make; however, they are probably the weakest build of the two especially at lower levels. Being the weakest in terms of damage, they may train a lot slower Even though,at higher levels they have more of an advantage due to their higher base ATT claw, they still aren't able to catch up because their LUK difference is already too far behind. Now, don't get meh wrong. Damage isn't everything. A person who made a regDEX and are able to make it far into the game are the ones that solely played the game for the enjoyment of the class itself and not for the damage, and they look good doing it. xD They are a highly respectable build, to be honest. Now for lowDEX. This build is very complex, at least for meh. xD They most likely, the hardest build to maintain. They have a good balance between damage (they can even compete with DEXless in terms of damage) and still able to wear the equips that regDEX wear. And since they used the DEX on their equips to keep their base DEX to a minimal to wear their claw, they will have more LUK than a regDEX to utilized the Maple Warrior skill and the L7/TT formula even more. Now their biggest disadvantage is that they MUST wear all their equips they h |

| Dexless Sin/Hermit/Night Lord that wears normal dex claws: This build is one of the hardest to come by. The first part of this build is deciding "I want ____ dex to wear _____ claw." The easy part is the base dex: its 25. The rest of the ap is spent into luk. The hard part about this build is getting enough dex to wear normal claws. There are a few musts: MUST have a Z helm scrolled for dex. Must have face stompers/ bss scrolled for dex. Must have face accessory (branch nose, raccoon mask, etc.) scrolled for dex. That is the 3 main equipment items you need to be scrolled for dex. Depending on how lucky you are, you might have to get dex scrolled earrings or a dex scrolled pac. I was highly recommend not doing this cause you can scroll those items for luk. The Z helm, shoe, and face acc. are the only items you will wear that cannot be scrolled for luk. Remember, you want dex to wear a claw, but luk for damage. You will also need a HT pendant when you get to at least level 120 and get MW to be able to wear the claw. You will have to scroll the HT pendant 3 times (Avg +52 in every stat) with eggs to get the max out of it (once you are able to scroll it 3 times which is currently unavailable as of now). Here is the dex you should aim for with your items. 25 Base Dex 25-30 Dex Z Helm 8 Dex Face 52 Dex HT Pendant 8-10 Dex Shoes That is 118-125 dex (before maple warrior) This is where it gets tricky. If you want to wear a dragon sleeve (150 dex), you need anywhere from 12-20 more dex. The way to get this is to get the osfa set (only the top and bottom). This adds about 6-10 dex right off the bat without scrolling. Then you could get a dex bottom and a dex top. You can easily get a 17 dex bottom and 17 luk top for pretty cheap. Now, with maple warrior included, you should have at least 150 dex which gets you your prized sleeve. Major Drawback of this build: You need to be at least level 130 for this to work (To get ht pendant and max MW). Solution: Just play as a normal dexless until about level 120 then start to work towards your claw. At level 90, you can get a Night Raven Claw which is for dexless hermits. This build is what I am trying to follow. Believe me, it is a pain, but in the end, i can look cool and still do great damage. Hope this helped. |

A Sauna/bathrobe (if you are able to get 120 DEX without it, might as well get a LUK pirate top and DEX bottom. Also the DEX of your cape ( edit: oh, you said you don't want to include this. Well, instead of scrolling it for LUK, you should scroll it with a chaos scroll - a PAC) . If you want, you could scroll that zhelm/shoes even higher. That should get you enough DEX to wear a sleeve, after taking in the other item you listed. Also, I heard that if you used MW to equip your claw and it run out or get dispel, you get D/Ced. I'm not sure this is true or not. Edit2: Besides, you won't be able to do this, since it only works for your base stats. Y |

The hard part is getting enough fund to equip it." Im assuming the person is spending all the mesos on the dex part of the funding and not chaos scrolls. Yes you could scroll any of the items i listed for more dex, but again its harder to come by. If you use MV to equip a claw, and then it runs out/ dispelled, it only allows you not to attack (TT, Lucky 7, Avenger). You just have to get enough of the required dex (recast) and you can use again. BTW, thanks for pointing out MV only works with base. I thought it worked with total amount. |

I was also giving you an some options on what you could do, since you did said you are aiming for DEXless sleeve as well. One more tip. You may want to take in account is a that LUK earrings will be way more expensive then DEX earrings. Isn't 6 LUK like 100m already? o.O That's around the same price as a 11-12 DEX. Unless, the price change in the last few months (I haven't played in a while). As for the MW being dispel, I read somewhere a few days ago that you get D/C, but of course, that just a glitch, so Nexon might fix it. But yeah, I understand what you trying to say. Well, I'm off now. Good luck on building that DEXless. ^^ |

| Pros Dexless : Higher Damage at Lower Levels LowDex: Somewhat decent damage. RegDex: Easily wear their equips. Cons: Dexless: Hella expensive. LowDex: Hella expensive . RegDex: Cheap and easy to maintain. Note: Anyone of these types of Sin could be very expensive; depends on how good you want to be (Stars, Claws, Luk Tops, DEX bottoms, Luk Saunas, etc.) |

| Thanks you guys, you really have opened my mind to different possibilities. I actually have a reg dex sin, but I wanted to see, well, with lack of a better way to put it, how the other half "lives". You have all gave me intellectual answers and have really helped me out, and I see different pros and cons with what I picked. Again, thanks for that, Don. If anyone has anymore to put its really appreciated. |
