yeah it basically screws over merchants and rare items. People that worked hard merchanting their money to earn rare or expensive items are now holding items almost half the price they paid for since anyone with extra money can buy boxes and get rare items for 1k nx. It's Nexon's way of saying Let's throw money at this shipand see what comes out. Oh look, scatter plots show a of a $740,000 net gain over the next 2 months if we release boxes. who cares about the actual game content and what the faithful old time players think? Long as we're making money right?
