STR CBs get too much credit today

Just pointing out some myths that aren't true, as far as I know. The regulars know that, but many people still come here saying "Make a STR Bandit! Your damage will be so much more stable!" That's not true. I don't know who said this, but when you're a regular STR Bandit your minimum damage will be a dashing 2.5% higher than it would have been if you were a LUK Bandit with the same maximum damage range. For me that would mean my minimum damage is either 24 points or 38 points higher had I been a LUK Bandit. Wow! Isn't it amazing? Furthermore STR doesn't seem to add Hp for the Chief Bandit. The amount of Hp a CB has, unless if Hp washed, is totally random. I have more Hp than some STR CBs and less Hp than some LUK CBs. A CB seems to receive between 21 and 25 Hp per level-up regardless of STR- or LUKness. It is true that a STR CB/Shadower will/may outdamage a LUK CB/Shadower at some point, but I myself don't have knowledge on that- opinions about that have changed. First people were convinced that (even with a Dragon Khanjar) you'd need 1B funding, now it's said that every STR CB will eventually outdamage an equally funded LUK CB. I don't know and don't really care either. After a certain level I can't remember STR Daggers aren't "Faster" any more, but are "Fast", just like the Cutters of the LUK Bandit. So STR Bandits do until some point hit faster than LUK Bandits, but STR CBs don't "outspeed" a LUK CB. I believe that Dagger Booster undoes the speed bonus of Faster Daggers anyway, but I'm not sure of that. Whether you like the looks of Daggers or Cutters more depends on you. "Go be a STR Bandit, their weapons look nicer" isn't necessarily a reason for every one to make a STR Bandit. I don't like the looks of the Serpent's Coil, but I do LOVE the looks of my deary Cursayer. I like as many Daggers as much as as many Cutters. Another thing I hear all the time is that the STR Bandit training experience is "different", but I don't know if a STR Bandit is more fun than a LUK Bandit while training or so- I'm at the same place where the average LUK CB of my level is: at Typhons. I got there later, though. That doesn't actively have to do with my STRness, more with other factors I will not go into. But training areas (and for some people fun) are based on your attack power, not on whether you're a STR or a LUK Bandit. There aren't any areas that block you out when you're either a LUK or a STR Bandit. I'm not trying to undermine the STR Bandit or discourage people, but I see people constantly claiming STR CBs have more Hp and hit 6X 1K where the LUK Bandit hits anywhere between 800 and 1200 even though I myself and other people have proven that wrong time after time. People are becoming a little too lyrical about the STR Bandit and I hate to see them disappointed. Just for the record: my Savage Blow hits anywhere between 900 and 1550. Pav

I still remember back in early 2006ish when my little level 30 str bandit was kicked in kerning pq for a luck bandit in his low 20s; a major "wth?" moment for me, who had started adding str after seeing that a Cass (the smexiest thing I've seen at the time) required some str. Oh, I'm not even going to mention ludi pq and things like random people coming up to you and saying "your a str bandit? lol noob". I really admire people like you, who took pride of being a str bandit even in those days.. but the thing is, it was difficult for many many other str bandits. Knowing that str bandits had it either equal to or worse than luck bandits made them seem rather obsolete, and the "uniqueness" gets old too. There were plenty more whining str bandits than those that took pride in being one; me being completely guilty of this. I mean, I quit my 75 str chief bandit, the only character I had gotten over 40, to create a dexless bandit to get back at the luck bandits that had annoyed me for so long. Shows how frustrated I was being a str bandit. My point being, I wouldn't flat out say that I miss the days when people said "str dits suck". However I'm also not liking the situation we're in now either; 3k for an 18 attack d. khanjar? likewut? Obviously luck bandits will be the rare ones now... I would love a balance between the two bandits, which Nexon seems to have a hard time doing.

I'll be the first one to say that flooding the market with d khanjars would have been a good thing if nexon did it with some restrant...maybe enough to drop the price 100m or so...but the way things are..its just a horrible mess.

Will in any case do so in the 5 million "OMG NEW SHEILD LUK VS STR" threads in the Thief Sectoin. It isn't pretty. Basilers surely must be dumber than monkeys! One person much to my surprise declared the heap of pixels that is my STR CB was "less than human". I had a good laugh out of that. :P

uhh.. i didn't really read the thread, but here's my opinion on str dits/cb/shads people need to understand that Str Shadowers > Luk Shadowers ONLY at high levels (120+) and with extreme funding, and only by a small margin However, if a +3 HT pendant is added, Str Shadowers will be better hands down, but i'm not sure by how much. link scroll down to the Spoiler button to see some calculations

Additionally, I think this breath of life is good for the game. If maple stayed the old grind it used to be, the game would be DEAD!

I'm not saying STR Bandits suck so people will stop making them. People just attach loads of myths that are untrue to the STR Bandit.

This new shield is basically a substitute for maple shields. It will be a little more expensive because of the extra luk, and a little cheaper because only bandits will use it.

Man.. I was a str bandit wayy before the khanjar. I just though the STR Daggers were badass... now i wanna be a luk again because of the Maple LUK Shields.

Nah. I saw it, too. It said 10 luk 10 slots. I think it was going for 10m starting price on Broa auctions.
