This week on world's deadliest warrior, Ninjas fought Spartans. Sadly ninjas lost only for one reason, the Spartans shield. Do you agree or disagree? The video will be put on the discovery channels website soon so watch it if you didnt see it on tv. Next week is Knight vs Pirate (Why didnt they make Pirate vs Ninja?)

THIS IS SPARTA! Since this thread is about spartans, is that considered spam? o.O OT: The ninja pwned hardcore. If he could have gotten the spartan to drop his shield, he would have won

Spartans. Hands down.

this is believeable.. both have equal chances to win. I didn't like the end result of Apache vs Gladiator though.

No offense, but since the Basil community is majority asian, it's no surprise for there to be a bit of a bias towards ninjas. The ninja is in fact a deadly warrior, but they are not a hand-to-hand combat fighter, which is why they lost to the Spartan. It was no surprise that the shield won the battle. Anyone who is educated on Spartan history knows that it is no secret that their shields win their battles. The observers summed up the match up with one sentence; "The ninja can hurt the Spartan, but the Spartan can kill the ninja." Even the ninja representatives said it, in real life the ninja would've ran and later killed the Spartan in his sleep. Cowardly, really.

magixrenThats dumb. I hate how the show always remove stealth. Without Stealth, A ninja is just another normal fighter....

The guys who represented the ninjas were embarrassing.

Not the ninja's ability to sneak up behind the Spartan and stab him in the back. Any moron with a sword can wait in a tree till a real warrior goes to sleep to kill him.

Spartans are trained to fight to the death... while ninjas are trained assassins. I actually thought that ninjas would win since Spartans were more of a tanker-type...
SilverFoxR Apr 21 2009 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
SilverFoxRI was suprised at the results, since the last two shows proved speed over power in the long run (Apache beats Gladiator, Samurai beats Viking)... but logically, the large, bronze shield is effective. I guess I'd blow-dart the spartan's foot, since it's an open target at any time. I'm also a bit suprised the Spartan didn't have a longer effect under the black egg's blinding... and why the ninja didn't run around behind and finish him in the scenario. But still, it's a sensible outcome. The only thing I really didn't like was the Spartan following 300's stereotype and scream "SPARTAAAAA!" when he won. That was kinna lame. By the way... anyone else know that Spartans would actually battle naked on occasion... and almost always entered large battles singing and dancing in parade? They were very light-hearted as it was part of their training. They were not just good warriors, but in a way amazing comedians. They were taught to have wit to taunt their opponents and show they had no fear. Anyways, for next week's episode... a lot of people may root for Pirates, but I'm going to have to go for the Knights. Although Pirates have pistols, it's not like a modern gun... it's innacurate, does not have a lot of stopping power, fires a flimsy lead shot... but most importantly, Knights are armoured pretty much from head to toe. It's highly unlikely it will come down to the ranged weapon. If anything, it'll be the cutlass or fencing foil... and the knight's armour will make it very hard to land a killing blow. Finally, for tonight's episode, the ninja team put it best - if a ninja saw a spartan (or for that matter a samurai or other opponent), they wouldn't logicly stay to kill them. Ninjas only fought to the death when no other option was left... or they knew their chances at dying or failing their mission were slim. Ninjas do not have the code of "stand and fight until you die". They were mountain-dwelling peasants who trained to fight and took on missions for money (mostly). If they had the chance, they'd throw a black egg or use another distraction tool to get the heck out of there. If they were to have to kill someone such as a Spartan, like the ninja team representitive said, they'd sneak in and kill the Spartan when he's unarmed and likely asleep. The fight wasn't the objective, it was the job - however he did it was irrelevant. They were patient and silent... spies, assassins and eventually, secret bodyguards. There was a show a while back about ninjas that demonstrated this quite nicely. They made a scenario of a target being held within a floor of a building with armed guards. First, they put in a bunch of special forces (possibly Navy Seals) to do the job. It took them very little time and everyone (the target and guards) were killed. Then, they reset for a single experienced ninja to do the same. Instead of storming the place and stealth killing everyone, he dressed up as a member of the film crew claiming he was there to clean the lenses. He acted ni
