I'll be straight-up honest. I don't really know a LOT about 'decent' bossing/ minimal lag computers. Currently, I run on a Windows XP 2000 Professional, that's already basically dead, but slowly runs Maple. My other system is a 2006 Windows Vista that dc'ed me horribly from anything bigger than Pianus. All I'm asking is for someone who is 'really good' with computers to run some specs on me. I'm not a BIG time gamer, but I like playing MapleStory, grandChase, and maybe LaTale once again. I want to know, really, main figures (pricing, RAM, processor, etc.) that are key components in playing laglessly. also, I'm wondering if I should get a new connection whenever I go off for college. Currently, we (my brothers and I) run off a Belkin54g wireless router network, 3 computers running at once, and mine is usually the only one that gets rest. Recently, I've seen an ad on Basil about an $899.99 laptop on Basil, so I was thinking about that. If anyone can help me, I urge you and thank you for any information you have to share.

Well, you're not going to need a huge machine to play MMORPGs. I wouldn't get one with integrated graphics, but you should do perfectly fine with something like an 8400M as a GPU. 2 GB RAM is the standard minimum you should go with nowadays and at the lower price range you're probably talking about AMD processors, of which I know nothing about.

Like Misacorp said, it won't require much of a computer to run MMORPGs. Just find one that has dedicated graphics, and that should run pretty much every MMORPG out there without frame rate lag. As for the 'delay' lag, that's caused by your internet connection, not your computer. If the computer you mentioned is this one; link I'd say go for it. It's an excellent laptop for the price.

I agree, the G50vt is one of the better laptops on the market in terms of quality and price/performance. OT: another kid had my dying saying that it was horribly overprice for laptop.

For some reason, I feel that the resolution on the G50 feel a bit low for the 9800mGT :L Other than that bother, it's a great buy for the price ^_^

It is a bit low, but assuming you play games that are more GPU bound, it will last longer at a lower resolution like that ( Im excluding scaling since i hate it ). OT: Actually Shiro, in the ms-tech section, the kid that said the G50 was horribly overpriced, says he would rather an alienware like the m15x over the G50 0_o.

Erm..guys..no need to argue. xD I'm looking at any type of computer (laptop-preferred cause im going off to college next year), and I'm unsure of how much I CAN spend. I'm looking at getting a summer job, and my mother is going to give me some of the money, so right now, I'm looking at specs that can help with some classwork and Maple without dc'ing half a million times a day..on the old computer, that is. We're not arguing, simply making fun of some other kid he thought he knew what he was talking about. Anyway, if you're looking to buy a laptop in a few months, I would come back in a few months since there will be more things out. You could feasibly get one now of course assuming you have the budget, but since it seems like you dont you should come back later. One thing to note especially is Intel's Calpela platform is due in Q3 of 2009, that being said, since people know what Nehalem did to Core2, I would expect Core2 based laptops ( pretty much any intel laptop ) to drop in price due to Calpela being on the horizon.
