Why can't I upgrade my horntail pendant past +1?

So, I just went to get the egg for my pendant, but when I try to use the egg, it will not allow me. Can anyone explain why?

You can get it past +1. ...With Chaos scrolls. It's supposed to be only +1. Nothing is wrong with it.

You can't add another egg into it The rest of the remaining slots are for different quests and different eggs (rumored) which aren't out in gms yet.

If a 120 NL even has enough money to buy an HTP or get one from his friends, then yes. He kind of should know something about it.
