Pokemon game Vs Pokemon show

Why do people tend to believe that the pokemon levels in the show are based on pokemon levels in the game. In the show, there are no levels, Pokemon do not learn certain attacks at certain levels. On youtube, some people who comment on the show tend to believe that a certain pokemon must be a certain level, SINCE it knows how to do a certain attack. For example, you see a Pikachu doing volt tackle, this automatically makes people think that the pikachu must be level 40 (just shouting out random numbers)l before it is able to learn that move. The fact is, in the pokemon show, pokemon learn moves on their own, and it is not based on certain levels. Those people need to stop relating the game to the show, it's very inaccurate and useless. Sample comment I've just read: "meowth is around lv 49 since thats when it learns night slash,but i still dont understand how it would be that level since it almost never fights(and when it does,it usually loses)" Useless thread, nothing special, just wanted to get it out there.

Uh, the anime is based off of the game. There's obviously going to be various discrepancies, like with a book and its movie.

Uhm Pikachu is like 9 seasons old, and it loses to noob gym leaders who other new Pokemon trainers are expected to bear. Of course it's not based on levels.
