Why does everyone like the Pokemon games so much? Yeah, I liked them too when I was a little kid, but there are tons of better games. I don't see how everyone's so excited about Pokemon Platinum. For example, on the DS, there's Custom Robo Arena, which in my opinion, is 10x better than the Pokemon games. Yeah, it has a smaller world and you can't catch your own robots, but the battle system is much better, and there is also customization. Also, it's less predictable. In every single Pokemon game, the story is the same. You have a rival, get a level 5 starter Pokemon, beat the gyms, then the Pokemon League, (or something else. I forgot the name) and then you just go on until you complete your Pokedex or something.

pokemon is the best not online RPG along with final fantasy. everyone likes it because its pokemon and its the decades' game you know what i mean. its still a good game, no one really pays attention to the show, its all the game. Fo Rizzle mah nizzle, macadizzle

It used to be just like that, but with the introduction of Wifi, people have been getting in on it. I guess its the human's natural competitive side showing.

Custom Robo Arena is kinda old, isn't it? I guess fans still like it for the whole wifi battle thing, but I'm not buying Pokemon again until they so something different, like in gold and silver when they actaully had ALL of the pokemon/countries/gym leaders/etc. in one game instead of making up more, scrapping some, and keeping the rest.

Custom Robo Arena has Wi-Fi too. How does Pokemon have "a lot more strategy to it"? In Custom Robo Arena, you actually fight. It's much more competitive fighting by actually moving around and pressing buttons to shoot, bomb, etc. than picking which move your Pokemon will perform. Also, Pokemon is not the "best RPG along with Final Fantasy". You seem to have forgotten Mass Effect, Fable, etc. I don't see why they can't just make a real action Pokemon game. There are 4 moves, so can't you just assign one to each button on the DS and use the pad to move? And then you can use the L and R buttons to use potions, throw Poke Balls, switch Pokemon, etc. That would be much better.

What's not to love? Well, let's see. It's boring and repetitive. And since when does a fat yellow rat yell "Pika CHUUU!" in the game? I thought that was the TV show.
