Hi guys, sometimes a virus that my avira picks up is TR/Spy.gen System Volume Information and then a lot of numbers afterwords like "A345667764" or something... i think this is a false alert from maplestory, but i'm not sure. because i think that this happened when downloaded maplestory on my new computer a few months ago. But it hasn't been up again until the last 1~3 weeks.

I hope it's a false positive. If you don't open maplestory, does Avira still pick up?

matrixcowTR/Spy is a trojan that steals info ;P Yeah, you get that picked up when you try to wear a P ikachu S ock. How do I know? I used to wear a pair, but I've gone back to the normal white plain socks. EDIT: I'm not saying the PS is stealing your info, I picked up one from even the -safe everyone plays 100% sure no hax don't even argue it's safe- PS's.

Typical virus behavior is to use the system restore folder as a means of protecting itself. They're diabolical if you're completely illiterate, but defenseless if you know what a system restore point is. My computer -> System Properties -> Disable system restore. That will effectively annihilate any viruses hiding out in your system restore folder.

pulsems? lol. i looked up the virus n instantly got results about several pairs of pikachu socks. ugly things too. i would never be caught wearing any lul. i prefer the classical mudkip socks. anyways, despite if u got it from wearing a disease infested pair of pikachu socks or not, the problem can be quite bad if left alone. id recomend running a few removal tools, avira[.]de/en/support/support_downloads[.]html www[.]bleepingcomputer[.]com/forums/lofiversion/index[.]php/htt%20%3C/span%3E%20%3C/div%3E%3C/t172742[.]html take out brackets for both obviously. gl edit: didnt notice that u mentioned its in the svi =x also System Volume Information isnt anything bad but... its involved with system restore...meaning u have a restore point in there. flush system restore out and u should be good...safecomputing[.]umn[.]edu/guides/systemrestore[.]html i would always recomend disabling system restore at all times, or at least turnin auto system restore off =x and not have too many backedup useful programs: Kaspersky. (google kaspersky online scanner) tuneup utilities 2009 diskrepair + registry cleanup ccleaner(crapcleaner, google) Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool avast! Virus Cleaner etc...
