I'm going to approach lv 90 soon, and I'm looking to buy a metus in advance should I buy a blue metus for its attacking speed or a regular (red) metus for its speed boost?

Ahh, you saw those two bows which has the same attack as well? When you get to 4th job, the speed on your bow does not matter anymore. Even if it is a normal attacking speed, hurricane will still fire the same amount of arrows as a fast bow. That's why I would choose a bow with speed boost as my end-game. Edit: Before 4th job, a fast-speed bow will enhance training. But after that, it doesn't matter anymore.

It depends on whether you're planning on keeping the bow to 4th job or not. The 'fast' attacking speed on the Blue Metus won't help as much once Hurricane becomes your primary attacking skill.

If you're going to Typhoon the Blue Metus is highly recommend since you'll be attacking a lot more per minute. If you're going to Nooter you don't do much moving so that SPD is pretty useless (just something to think about) and there's almost always a Nooter so you can make very good use of the extra attack speed. For a high moment map like Squids or Gobehs it's a tossup on which you prefer.

I wish I could afford that Blue Metus.. Anyway, I think a Blue one is definitely better. 30 levels is a long way and the extra attack speed really helps for the best training spots right now.

I would say you get a Blue Metus because you might like to train at Typhons, and the speed boost will help you there, but if you can get both, that would be even better!

Use a Blue Metus. You said you're going to replace the Bow when you're higher level with a Nisrock? Definately Blue Metus.
