Pokemon berry question

Hey guyz, I've got a question on pokemon berry's, Hondew berry's to be more specific. I just don't know how to feed it to my rayquaza, when I pick 'use' it says: 'This isn't the time to use that!' what do I have to do? O.o I rly need it cuz I have to check my Rayquazas Sp. att EV's D:

You cant check Evs. you give it to the pkmn and it uses it in battle depending on the situation and what the berrie says.

It should be usable outside of battle, actually. Once you pick the Hondew Berry, does the message appear as you press Use or once you try and give it to your Rayquaza?

It says it when I use it on my rayquaza and the description says: "Can be ground up into a powder as an ingredient for medicine."

Hondew Berry - Lowers effort points for Special Attack for Friendship If the message pops up as you try and use it for your Rayquaza, the answer is simple - your Rayquaza does not have any Sp. Atk EV [left] and therefore you can't reduce it any more. Edit2: The description is referring to grinding into Berry Powder

those berrys only decrease the EV's, not the base stat itself you won't see a difference until level 99-100
