Lots of people say they're emo... But they're more of psychopathic than emo. I usually see pictures of emo guys with the line from LP's Crawling "Crawling in my skin These wounds, they will not heal" Yeah... some people say they're whining, it's funny yeah they're like whiny kids but I can see lots of people - in this generation - say that their genre is "emo" They blame the lyrics of Crawling... LOL? There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface Consuming/confusing This lack of self-control I fear is never ending Controlling/I can't seem

Wow I just re-heard some Linkin Park and really study the meaning. I actually appreciate some of their songs now. But I still refuse to support/buy their cds.

learn the meaning of Psychopathic please? Also, its "emo" or whatever you want to call it because they mainly talk about all the negative problems that people have. Why? Could be because their audience can relate to it and so they are appealing to a massive amount of depressed teenagers. They make money out of that. Also, it could be their own personality which is composed of past events. So they could be singing about their own personal problems in past or present. Like LP or not, its "emo"

Like LP or not, its "emo"" a mental disorder in which an individual manifests amoral and antisocial behavior, lack of ability to love or establish meaningful personal relationships, extreme egocentricity, failure to learn from experience, etc. fits more than "Emo", Emo has a different meaning. Papercut also goes around with that meaning. Points of Authority isn't emo. Easier to run goes to along with that meaning too. From the inside is just nothing but bursting out your wrath or whatever... Most of their song don't even go around with "Emo" genre... Wanna try learning the real meaning of Emo, please?

What is emo? Because through my limited knowledge on the subject it seems like nothing more then a subtle attempt for attention. When I experience unpleasant moments in my life I don't start sulking and then give up on everything whilst wearing ridiculous clothing and claim that it's who I am. If anything, failure and hurt propels my desire to achieve further and even more then that, competition. So please, all you emos begin searching for new methods to gain attention because your current attempts to be noticed are failing terribly. Call my words nothing more then condensed bigotry but honestly you have got to move on and begin to understand that nobody cares. We all have our own issues to deal with so stop being so insensitive and keep yours to yourself.

It's impossible to criticize them without giving them attention, and if you ignore them, they just whine and cry louder.

Because, A. there are better singers(Serj tankian) and there are better bands that do not try to fuse rap and metal to seem cool to teen audiences!

Unfortunately, It seems the meaning of Emo died when the wanna-be Emo's came. I'll refer to them and "scene kids". Many people refer to the scene kids as "Emo" with the way they dress and the type of music they listen to. Emo isn't something to be judged on the outside.
NasalGoo 04/16/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
they still suck no matter what u say
CampbellsSoup 04/16/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Honestly, I would hardly say those lyrics relate to psychopathic behaviour. But at the same time, I wouldn't call it 'emo', per-se.
lupefiasco 04/16/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
lupefiascoAnd this is where I stop caring for what others think. I remember before basil used to CONSTANTLY bash LP, can't believe I actually remember ImTwoCats defending them (oh the old days) anyways. I listened to them recently and I like all their albums, they are therapy in a way.

You can't look at someone and say they're emo. Musicality and the way they dress is on themselves not because emotions. And most of the "emo" that people refer to are just scene kids looking for attention.
