Why is it, in the mapling community of today, players are often obssessed with raising their damage, and comparing said equips with fellow maplers? Too often I see players comparing equips, with the player with lesser equips receiving flames from the other. Do players now judge others, based on equips and damage? Scenario: Person 1: Noob Damage. What att hinkel? Person 2: 77 Person 1: Mines 82. pwnt Also, what's the difference between a 6att work glove and a 8att work glove? But yet, people splash out many mesos, just for an extra 400(?) damage. Well-scrolled equips are in demand from the public, but then, it seems that well-scrolled items increases how fun MapleStory is. I am certain that when Wizet first created MapleStory, the domination of well-scrolled items wasn't intended. In conclusion, is it true that you need high damage to enjoy MapleStory? Does low damage make you inferior?, and improving equips are fine, as long as you don't look down on others just cos you got some hyper-godly weapon, or you outdamage a fellow player. Spending 100mil on a godly item is fine. However, a stereotypical 'damage hoar' would use the godly item to bag those who have something lesser. I hate players who walk up to you and demand you tell them your whole equip list, stats and all. Next time you decide to splash out on a godly equip, ask yourself, is this equip necessary? Will it lead to greater enjoyment of MapleStory? Is increased damage really that important? ~Fin. Feel Free to voice your opinion on this, because this message was written from my point-of-view, and other people may have different opinions. That said, unsupported comments would be disregarded and ignored EDIT: I have no problem with people who enjoy raising their damage, however, i do with people who compare each other, based on their damage. This leads to people splashing out on equips that are only slightly better than what they currently posses.

It still proves my point as in even if Person 1 has a sucky weapon, that doesn't stop him from bagging Person 2, based on the fact that better equips=Peron 1 better that Person 2

Simply, higher damage = faster levelling. I've spent a lot of money getter better equips a little at a time, only I don't show them off. And the 2atk from the work glove won't make that much difference, but when you improve your glove, your cape, your weapon, your hat (z-helm), etc ... you'll notice a much bigger change.

lol which is why I don't tell any random my equip stats. If they ask , my answer will always be "enough". Listening to lukless mages laugh at you cos their overall has 1 more int is quite tiring. Might as well not say anything.

Humanity strives to be better. If this wasn't the case, we'd still be in the stone ages. There's also a difference between caring about your damage and caring about others damage. Trying to upgrade your equips as best you can to improve your training is all good. That is, until it gets to the point where you become condescending and bag others for their lack of funds.

I couldnt give a damn whether i hit more than the spearman 5 levels above me or less than the spearman 5 levels below me. As long as i am using all or most of my characters potential then i'm happy and if that means putting all my mesos into my character than so be it, to me its all in the sake of progress.

I have no problem with improving equips and trying to get the best possible, there's nothing wrong with that as it's a big part of the game. I'm not that fussed by damage, my I/L which I've just started again after not playing it for a year is normal LUK, in today's community I'd probably be penalized for playing it due to most being low LUK, but I couldn't really care less. My 'Slinger is regular STR, and my Bandit is at 80 DEX capped. People really do need to start keeping themselves to themselves, well, to an extent anyway. It's your Story!
