Level 10 snail rumor

I heard about if you get your snail to level 10, you get 5k nx or something like that. So I got my snail to level 7 in 1 hr and 20 minutes from the pet park and pet food. I have some questions Need to know: -Is this rumor true? -Is there another way besides pet food and pet park to train him? Already found out: -How much closeness do I need for him to be level 10? It's 287. =) Thanks. Also, how to get the snail: When you turn level 15 (or are higher than 15) you get this one light bulb above your head and mar the fairy gives you an egg thing. You have to take the egg to him and he gives you a snail. The snail lasts 5 hours and loots your mesos and stuff. For those of you who don't know Mar the Fairy is hidden in Ellina. You can also train him with commands. There's "iloveyou", "quest", "level"... and that's all I know.
