Other than the title probably being spelled wrong I was wondering of the three mages, which is the most self-sufficient?
WebSurfer09 04/13/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Cleric, of course. Self-pots for free :D

do u mean like can provide for it self? if so it is not a cleric cuz it needs a atker to train if you mean like can make money on its own and does not need to use HP pots: then a cleric

if by self-sufficient the class that can solo relatively well on their own...I'd say definitely not cleric since clerics generally lvl faster with parties, I would recommmend f/p just cause when misting they tend to train alone, and you can just do pqs until you get mist

Solo Clerics are weak. very weak. So yes, they are mostly party classes. And Mano spawns near Lith Harbor. Around the Thicket 3, I think it's called?

mano spawns 2 maps left of the pig beach map

Ok then clerics are out, what about i/l? I dont have anything against a f/p, infact id much rather have one over any class, its just i dont want to get addicted to pqing. So i have trouble lvling I do actually like training every now and then
Saital 04/13/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
I/Ls are pretty self-sufficient. In early 2nd job though they can be major pot-burners, especially if you go lightning-first. However, once you max teleport and MP eater, you'll be able to make money most of the time while training, which you can also do by yourself. Why do you say F/Ps would get you addicted to PQing? Once they hit 3rd job, they are the fastest levelers by far simply by training. They don't have to PQ much except during 2nd job, but of course, everyone PQs in 2nd job. Leveling and damage-wise, F/Ps are the best. But I have no experience to judge their money-making ability.

well i heard that they get costly and the pqing thing happens with every class i try, i get so used to quick lvling from cpq when i train its instant boredom

wolvgatores said: "well i heard that they get costly " Considering you want to make a mage, training WILL get costly sooner or later due to the ultimates. So if you think F/Ps cost more to train in 2nd-3rd job than the other two classes, you'll be in for a rude awakening with the other two types. In my experience F/Ps are the most fun of the bunch, especially if you take advantage of poison during 2nd job.
wolvgatores 04/13/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
well, thats encouraging and if i did make it to 4th job, i was gonna train like they do in kms using more than just ultimates
SilverFoxR 04/13/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
SilverFoxR*facepalm* Priests gain better exp in a party situation... Clerics gain more exp training alone . Clerics are probably the more self-suffcient class, mainly because they can train for longer and use up less than their mage cousins. With the right build (that does not mean a solo build using Holy Arrow, by the way), a Cleric can train very well and use virtually no potions whatsoever. This means all the mesos and items they gained training are pure profit. To get through 2nd job as a Cleric, your best bet is to use the following build: -1 Teleport -Max Heal -Max MP Eater OR Teleport (if you want to get from lv 40-50 by only CPQing) -Max Teleport OR MP Eater (whichever you didn't max before) ^*-self-sufficiency achieved-*^ -Max Invincible OR 5 Invincible (depends if you want Bless first) -Max Bless -Max Invincible (IF you haven't already) -11 points left over (dump into Holy Arrow or 1st job skills) People think "Solo Cleric" means "Holy Arrow". That's not true. In fact, it's faster to train with Heal (mobbing = more exp).

if you mean a class that can fend itself from higher level monsters or whatnot, then f/p mages (they can poison), or maybe i/l mages (they can freeze). if you mean a class is efficient with their wallet, then a cleric obviously.
cleets 04/14/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Depends on your understanding of self-sufficiency. Assuming you mean the ability to hold your own in both party and solo situations then choose a f/p or i/l. Now if you mean ability to profit majorly just from training (all while still being wanted in all parties, then cleric). Not that clerics can't fend for themselves...it's just that the others are stronger. Clerics are pretty much the weakest 2nd job class in the game. And with MG, the wizards should be able to stay alive most of the time
