| which is better? which has better detection rate, resident shield, and overall. i have avast right now, but i feel like moving to AVG cuz Avast scanning takes a long time, and it doesn't have schedule scanning. also, i'm bored, thats why =] |

Remember Avast was useless during the Coinflipper era. IMO Linux is the best anti-virus our there." Do you mean conflicker? The overhyped worm that had the most of the online community ( and 95% of basil ) shaking in their boots only to be a bigger disappointment than the variety of games aimed at mainstream gamers for the Nintendo Wii? Yea 'nuff said. |

| AVG is not so great to be honest, and I originally just wanted to read this thread for a comparision. My current desktop is so messed up, and it had 360 something viruses, with AVG installed. AVG also caught and deleted a .dll file and now my computer will hardly run because of the AVG eff up. |

No offense, but judging by the nature of your post, it sounds like more of a pebkac problem to me. 1. 360 detected files perhaps, but individual viruses? More than unlikely. 2. Don't you check what is being deleted before clicking? Or at least the directory thereof if there are a lot? The same could occur with any AV program if someone doesn't read before clicking. |
