| I'm back and here to give a brief review on the movie. :P Note: I am very lenient. Overall Character Review W/O Spoilers! Master Roshi - Let's start it with what everyone knows right now, hair. He has hair..kinda 'Ew, wth.' Fat didn't exactly nail the role with Roshi.. he was a perv..in like 3 scenes..but he also sports a nifty sweater with an anime girl in a bikini, kind of a homing to his anime counterpart. He was funny, energetic in some parts, and the ending of the movie, all I'm saying is that it is similar to the anime with Roshi, to some portion. Mafuba was also a nice touch. Overall, not too good. Bulma Briefs - Emmy seemed to capture Bulma in every aspect of her character in the movie, some portions of Bulma aren't exactly present, but she can be a bit mean, obviously smart and has some great technology. Capsule Corp. makes a quick brief appearance, and to those who say 'OMG NO BLUE HAIR >:O,' you really want to see this compared to this? She gives a quick wink to her blue hair with a few highlights of blue, gives a bit to the anime and still looks great. She had some cheesy lines, but well, DB was kinda cheese at times :P. Pretty nice portrayal. Yamcha - Only character who really just made me mad ._. HARDLY anything like how he is in the anime. As far as I saw, he didn't do a single punch, just a few blasts here and there. Wolf Fang Fist isn't even in there. However, he has his perks, I liked his voice and he seemed goofy like the anime, pretty much as good as it gets. Easily the worst IMO. Mai - WOW, she is DIFFERENT. She like got an extreme makeover from the anime. Obviously, she's no longer with the Red Ribbon Army, but now works with Piccolo. She isn't even useless, she's pretty crazy, fast, and witty. Looked somewhat like the anime, just like the exact opposite in attitudes. One of the best characters :O. Lord Piccolo - First off, this is the Piccolo before the Piccolo we know and love in Dragonball Z, this is the original one, in the anime, he spits up the "good" one when he dies. Pretty interesting how he was handled. Not much screen time, and not too many lines. He IS green but lacks antennas. Pretty similar to the anime, but lacks his purple overall and accessories. No mention of him being a part of Kami, sadly. Marsters did a great job! Last, but definitely not least, Goku - Yay for controversy with Justin Chatwin. For one, he's a Saiyan , which is an alien race, doesn't mean an Asian HAS to play, doesn't mean a White guy has to either, doesn't matter who really, as long as it looks decent. The hair was so-so. I cracked a smile at his low self-esteem at the beginning of the movie and I laughed at how he acted around Chi Chi. Of course it's different in the anime, but it was a funny part of the movie :s. He had some really cheesy lines, but Goku was kinda cheesy. There's a little wink to his appetite in one part of the movie (he's basically devouring a whole drumstick ). He "evolves" throughout the course of the movie. I liked |
