This is where you start from., but try something new next time.. Doing someone else's drawings doesn't help much your creativity.

Great job! I completely believe that you didn't paper to paper trace it ;] I had a friend who drew the dude in Final Fantasy ._. and when she touched it up on the computer it looked so real o.o She had like 80+ layers tho...
