it hurts my eyes watching it (literally) Not that it's ugly - it's pretty well made, but the blur hurts my eyes

Shouldn't his phantasmal tail be touching the surface of the watch?

Fail at realism. Pocket watch and the chain are not supposed to be blurry. Only the ghost attached is supposed to be blurry.

It's realism. Only failed. See, you add blur to the background to make the monster seem like he's got the "camera" focused on him. You don't normally blur the MONSTER, too. o_o
