If your straight a gay friend is just about the cool friend you can make. Gay people usually have A LOT of female friends(hot ones), and my gay friend introduced me to A LOT of the girls in my school, so yay for him being so gay. I think the thing that makes people afraid of gay people is the possibility they start hitting of you. Just let them know you're not gay and I'm pretty sure they'll leave you alone.
